We know that most parents are only too willing to be involved with their child’s education but perhaps have not always been sure about how to go about it. Some parents have been concerned that they put too much pressure on their children or teach them by a different technique which could be confusing.

We know that these difficulties can be overcome and that teaching is not just for teachers. What we really want is a close partnership in which parents and teachers work closely together. In this way parents can become familiar with the methods used in school and teachers will be aware of any difficulties that arise at home. Most importantly the children will benefit enormously from knowing that parents and teachers are pulling in the same direction.

Teachers will continue to spend a great deal of time in school teaching a variety of skills, but parents also play an important part. Below you will find a range of information leaflets on how you can help your child at home.
