This morning we had a visit from Mr Lane, from the charity Rwanda Restored.

Llanishen Fach has worked closely with Mr Lane over the past few years, but most noticeably when we changed our school uniform in September 2012. All of our old uniform, which was so kindly donated by parents, was sent to provide uniform for pupils across seven different schools including Kwirama Primary School, Gotovu Primary School and most recently Rusoro Primary School. The generosity of our parents has also helped orphaned children in an Aids project in Kigali.

As you can see from the photographs below we also supported the Rwanda Project by donating a electronic keyboard.

The BFG Performance

Starring Anthony Pedley

Years One and Two were lucky enough to be visited today by an actor from both stage and television. Mr Anthony Pedley has been an actor for 45 years and has made more than 1750 appearances as the BFG!

He ‘told’ the story of the Big Friendly Giant single handedly, apart from his trusty assistant Sophie (a wooden puppet).

His performance and enthusiasm, captivated the audience, who watched transfixed – giving ‘ooohs’ and ‘aaah’s as he took them through this well-known story. That was until the famous ‘Whizz Popping’ episode that made the children laugh in amazement!!

The children were captivated throughout and enjoyed every minute. Many thanks to Mr Pedley for a very enjoyable performance!

Mrs Dutfield and the School Council walked to Sainsbury's this afternoon to make the donation.

Thank you to everyone for your support!

In aid of 'Sport Relief' 2014, we are encouraging all of the pupils and staff to help raise money by wearing their sports and team kits and donating £1 for the privilege.

At the end of the afternoon our School Council members will make their way to our local Sainsburys store and donate all of the money raised by the school.
