  • Rhiwbina Bowls Club

    Wed 22 Apr 2015 M.McKinnell
On Tuesday , Year 5 were visited by Rhiwbina Bowls Club. The children were put in teams of 4 and each team had a coach. They had different targets to get the balls in. Everyone was enjoying themselves. We asked lots of people if it was hard. Most of the people we asked said it was very hard , meanwhile some people were finding it really easy. Some people managed to get the balls in the targets!!! We spoke to Delyth and Anna who were taking part. "It is really cool as we are getting lots of points," said Anna. Delyth said " It is really hard to get the balls in the targets but also fun," We also spoke to some other people. " It is really interesting and I don't think it is hard," said Harry. Nia said ," It is kind of easy but half hard." At the end of the session, everyone enjoyed it. We are looking to our next session at Rhiwbina Bowls Club.  By Kate and Ruth

Fri 27 Mar 2015 Miss Ford

What a fantastic day! We've delved into all areas of WWI and WWII; hidden in trenches; worn the uniform of soldiers; witnessed Spitfires overhead; touched a ballistic missile; seen the affects of poisonous gases; not to mention- raiding the gift shop! We are now on our way home and enjoying the famous landmarks in London as we pass through...see you on the other side!

  • Rugby V Marlborough Primary

    Tue 17 Mar 2015 M.Carter
What a fantastic effort the rugby team showed when they played their first rugby match against Marlborough Primary School. We had a mixture of Years 4,5 and 6 and for a squad that has only recently started training together, (a big thank you to some of our Year 4 dads who have given up their time on a Tuesday afternoon to help the boys out) they showed great team spirit.  It was a very close game with excellent tackles and passing from both teams. Well done boys, I am looking forward to the next game.
  • Llanishen High School Rugby Taster

    Tue 17 Mar 2015 M.Carter
Mr Trellawny from Llanishen High School visited the school with a few of the Sixth Form Rugby Team to show Year 5 and 6 what fun rugby is. He showed them various drills and practices to help improve catching, passing and tackling. With the help of the sixth formers we are hoping to expand our current rugby club to offer both contact and non contact rugby.

What a treat we had this afternoon! The Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir came to visit  our school to sing some traditional welsh songs. The highlight of the concert was when our very own school choir sang Suo Gan with them. The male voice choir sang in four parts and our choir sang in two parts. All children were hypnotised by the outstanding voices. By Keira, Bethan, and Caitlin.

  • School Council Election

    Tue 10 Feb 2015 Y6 School Council

On Wednesday 11th of February we are having a new School Council Election , which will be the first one where we use proper boxes, ballot slips and booths. To get hold of these, we emailed a local councillor asking her for help. Today Mr Silver will go to County Hall to pick them up. All children from Year 1 to Year 6 will be able to participate in the voting process. The current School Council members will be the election coordinaters. Remember, if you are in Year 6 and you have been School Council before, you can be voted again.
